Date and location

The nEUROgastro TANDEM meeting will take place September 2-4, 2019, prior to
NeuroGASTRO Lisbon, at the Chronic Diseases Research Center (CEDOC)/NOVA Medical
School (NMS), NOVA University of Lisbon, Portugal.

 

 

 

 

 


Eligibility

Applications are accepted from candidates who meet the following criteria:

 

  • currently work in a European country in the field of Neurogastroenterology or are interested to develop their career towards this field
  • Have a MD or PhD degree or are in the last year thereof
  • Are 35 years old or younger on January 1st in the year of application, unless exceptional circumstances have significantly delayed career progression
  • Please note: For female candidates with children the age limit of 35 is automatically extended by one year per child
  • Researchers from eastern European countries and north Africa are encouraged to apply

 

 

 

What do you need to send for applying:

 

Applicants are asked to submit their CV (one page), a letter of motivation (one page), a letter of support from their Head of Department and publication list (if available, not required).

 

 

 

 

 

Selection process

 

  • Full applications are discussed within the TANDEM committee. Based on merit, 10 PhD and 10 MDs (or candidates) are selected.
  • Based on their research area and expertise, one MD and one PhD (or candidates) are paired up in a team.
  • All candidates are informed by email of the outcome of their full application.
  • Selected teams are notified of their selection.
  • Each team must compose a research project based on their individual expertise.

 

 

 

Evaluation criteria

 

The aspects that should be considered constructing the research plan and that will be taken into account to evaluate the proposed research project are:

 

  • Willingness of the applicant to tackle new and important problems
  • Is the proposed research interesting and realistic?
  • Is the proposed project a good combination of the applicants' expertise?
  • Is the budget reasonable?
